Company History

SITRONICS TS (formerly STROM telecom) entered the telecommunications market in 1993 with an in-house developed solution named ATE plus. This solution comprised analogue to digital converters and software and provided precise statistical monitoring (call length, distance, tariff period etc.), of all in-coming and outgoing traffic in analogue exchanges. ATE plus was an economical solution for operators to commence staged digitalisation of analogue networks. The solution was first deployed in the network of SPT Telecom (later Czech Telecom), which was then the only operator in the Czech Republic.

In 1995 SITRONICS TS received its first large foreign contract with MGTS (Moscow Municipal Telephone Network), Russia. At the time local calls in Russia were charged at a flat rate, irrespective of the length of calls or time of day, and naturally municipal operators were looking to resolve this situation. Building upon the experience gained developing the ATE plus system, SITRONICS TS developed a billing solution which enabled MGTS to charge calls by the minute. Soon after SITRONICS TS developed a solution for data retrieval from digital networks and the MEDIO TDM digital switching platform.

Since its incorporation SITRONICS TS closely cooperated with Tesla Votice, drawing on the latter's decades of experience in producing computer and telecommunications equipment. In 1998 STROM telecom acquired Tesla Votice.
